In today's episode of Disability Tax™ strikes again. And how I accept ableism without noticing because it's so normalized

I have to pick up a card I applied for at @FNBSA and the branch with no parking for the Disabled means that we parked away from the bank & wheeled to the branch. It's got a ramp so it's cool I guess.

We get there & I'm told that the card I was informed I only needed to sign for, needed me to wait an hour to get assistance with.

I couldn't wait an hour for a card so I was informed to come back tomorrow when there are more consultants at work and they will be able to help

I left the bank careless & after we got back into the car my partner says: "How are they expecting you to come pick up the card when it's not your problem that they don't have staff today? What happens when I can't be there to get you to the bank & there is no Disabled parking"

My partner wanted to know if @FNBSA doesn't have consultants to go to clients who can't access the bank esp after the said clients made an effort & were not served.

Which when you think about it, it's not too much of an ask considering that I did my part by following the

Instructions from them and after all that I still don't have a card & I can't access the money I need to get around.

I'm so used to being told to come back tomorrow even though it costs me more than an average person to get around.

It would have cost me R60 to make a round trip

On any other day & if I go back tomorrow I'm spending another R60 to accommodate ableism from a financial institution.

Never mind that I am risking my life to do these bank trips for proof of residence in 2020..

Anyway @FNBSA I don't got the R60 to come pick up my card tomorrow. You being short staffed is costing me R120 I don't have and I can't access the few dollars you don't want to give me in my PayPal account.
