Jk Rowling has written a book where a man dresses as a woman to kill people. The character is not trans. Every time a person says she's transphobic for this or calls the character trans, all they do is reveal that THEY think transwomen are just men in women's clothing.
It's about the dangers of self-ID. When they say "man in a dress" or "man dressed like a woman" but say that's transphobic, they make the point about the dangers of self-ID for us: by their rules we aren't allowed to see a difference between genuine transwomen and predatory men.
Another thing is that the language they are using to describe the character is far more offensive than anything JK Rowling has EVER said. She's never called transwomen "men in dresses" and yet people are using that language to call HER the bigot. They need to focus on themselves.
