And we& #39;re off to the races! Didn& #39;t even get past the table of contents. "Basic stages of gender transition" - notice how "real life experience" is before hormones. We& #39;ll see what that means when we chew through all the previous chapters (like "fetishistic transvestism")

(The authors) talk a lot about the language they use and why they use it, and let me tell you, if all your words are gendered and the word "person" ("ÄlovÄk") is gendered male and they& #39;re talking about "transsexual persons".......... yeah kinda sucks let me tell you
From the first "real" chapter I& #39;m getting strong "female brain in male body" vibes. Since we don& #39;t have a separate word for "gender" it& #39;s described here as "psychological sex" and so it is heavily conflated with biological differences still. This is just a "introduction" chapter-
in an academic title so I& #39;m hoping the future chapters will go into more detail on that. I& #39;m mostly interested in their definitions to see what angle the treatment is being done from. Let& #39;s get through this

THEY& #39;RE CITING A GUY WHOSE LITERAL NAME IS F*GOT I CAN& #39;T (censoring because I don& #39;t wanna get suspended before I even finish this book lmfao)
LOVE how we& #39;re saying that trans people are attracted to people of "the same biological sex" and they "think of themselves as heterosexual" and how it& #39;s one of the four primary "symptoms", hell yeah

Yeah I got ADHD& #39;d in the like 3rd chapter of however fucking many and jumped to the part that interests me hhh ill continue this thread later when I get back to the boring stuff but I am SEETHING WITH ANGER because of the shit I read in the later chapters.
Nit angry at the book/author, just an unrelated doctor who is apparently a fucking shithead and goes against this book& #39;s explicit recommendation that is a) good and b) makes sense but he does the exact opposite and I wanna SCREAM
