This was interesting news released in Aug about the online concert and if it's really an alternative to offline concert? I will try to summarize the key points...

it said "only platform usage fee (commission rate) is 30%-50%" small, mid-sized agencies can't even afford this fee https://twitter.com/oceana613/status/1305763681867718657
+cost of creating high-quality concert is huge, more they focus on quality more they face -profit. Cost of online concert is not only platform fee but there will more costs like labor cost, transmission fee, artist guarantee, stage set cost, lights, equipment costs etc...
+since the AR VR, multi-viewing are new trends, the cost of broadcasting and transmission equipment is very high, according to the industry person. They said they paid 8mln-10mln won just for cameras and transmission equipment. when they tried to lower the cost by+
+not inviting pro transmission team, quality can't follow. There aren't many platforms which are able to do live concert (i think we know who they are) and the biggest problem is the platforms take away an average of 30 to 50% fee...
according to one small agency, they paid at most 55% fee to the platform, commission included 25-30% for the online concert platform operation and 20-25% of the promotion costs... so basically if u don't have high demand, especially from international fans, making profit is dream
+but it's not only high in KR, in JPN they receive 40% commission fee. So overall bc it's online doesn't necessarily mean it has to be affordable... preparation, labor cost, staging etc are all the same as offline concert but they have to pay extra more money to platforms
Just FYI, ex:even app store, play store gets 15%-30% tax from every in-app purchases which include all the merch u buy, content u purchase, albums u buy on w3v3erse shop etc...so it's hard to assume 10$ I pay, directly goes to one man's pocket as 10$. it's like slicing the cake😅
