How to move forward after losing your job

A thread

Many companies are going through a tumultuous time as a result of COVID 19 and they have to make some tough decisions. One of such decisions is to reduce headcount.
Losing a job can be one of the most traumatic and painful life events. It comes with grief which is a natural feeling when you have lost your job.

Figure out how you can emotionally deal with this change. Everyone is different, and you should acknowledge that it may
take some time before you feel like yourself again. With that in mind, you need to give yourself both the time and space to come to terms with your loss.

When you have come to terms with your loss, ask for help. You need to use everything in your arsenal to put things right.
Reach out to people and let them know that you need some support, help or advice along the way. By being straightforward about what you need from people, you can make their job simple and get the type of support you're after. Don't underestimate the value of their support.
One thing is certain, you will recover from this setback and be back on your feet in no time. I appreciate those who come out boldly on Twitter and LinkedIn to ask for help. You will smile soon.
