Rumors that Adel Amrouche will be the next #KaizerChiefs coach.

So who is he? Adel Amrouche is a 52 year old Algerian coach and former player who currently manages the Botswana national team.

As a player, #Amrouche played for a number of Algerian clubs including CR Belouizdad, USM Alger and AS Ain M'lila. He had a brief stint in Austria before moving on to play for a number of Belgian clubs.

He also holds Belgian citizenship.

Amrouche began his managerial career in 1988 by coaching the youth ranks of Algeria.local club, OMR El Annasser. He then had stints as a technical and sporting director in Belgium before being appointed to a role at Congolese side DC Motema Pembe as head coach in 2002.

In 2007 he was appointed as coach of the Burundi national team. He built a reputation of bring ing youth through and building youthful and energetic teams over a long time.

He continued this with his next job as Kenya manager where he promoted a number of young players.

Amrouche is not without scandal. In 2014 while coach of Kenya'sHarambee Stars, Amrouche was banned for a year for spitting at an official during their CAN qualifier against Comoros. He also had a dispute with the Kenya Football Federation who he sued for wrongful dissmisal.

As a coach he tends to play either a 4-3-3 or a 4-4-2

His managerial record isn't great. At Burundi he won 2 of 13 games, losing 7. At Kenya he won 2 of 9. At his most recent club job he won't 4 of 12 with MC Algiers.

He has no major honors as player or coach that I can find.

One thing that stood out to me is that he uses A LOT of players. He doesn't seem to be one to stick to one team week in week out. He also tends to make a lot of changes so perhaps we can expect some.

It is also curious to me that he has spent a large part of his career in admi istrative roles of Sporting Director and technical director. I really don't know if #Chiefs fans will be all that excited to see him take the helm. Seems a curious appointment.

If his appointment does indeed happen, it will be a serious risk for the club. Gavin Hunt is the man the fans want, he knows the players and SA football, he knows how to win.

This appointment would be brave and fraught with danger.
