All joking aside (since I rarely talk on Twitter in a serious way anymore)...

I feel like people unfairly devalue Cell as a character too much. Cell himself, and his motive, are incredibly unique (and imo, very cool) when (1/6) https://twitter.com/saladsaiyan/status/1305601279067127811

compared to other DB villains, either before him or after. Not to undermine the other villains, but outside Cell, a lot of them were just seeking to take over the world or destroy stuff. In a way, his motive somewhat fits in the latter motive, but has an interesting twist. (2/6)

Instead of seeking world domination or destruction, Cell simply wanted to prove his dominance, as well as wanting something that we see Goku seeking a lot as well - he wanted to have fun by having a good fight.

The concept is so simple but it’s somehow amazing when shown (3/6)

through Cell. Beerus is really the only other antagonist we’ve seen with a motive like this.

He’s essentially a foil to Goku - the evil version of a fighter like Goku that just wants to have fun. Even the iconography tends to show this, comparing him to Goku. (4/6)

Of course, he’s not a perfect villain (pun intended), but even though he (and the arc itself) are flawed, personally I’m not deterred.

If anything, his traits like his arrogance make him more likable for me, and relatable to the protagonists. Cell isn’t some omniscient (5/6)

fighter. Also (I’m assume this was intentional), his personality seems to be a sum of his parts which is a very nice touch, and makes it more sensible for him to have flaws, such as egoism from Vegeta.

Overall, I love him as a character. His arc is flawed, but him? Perfect.

This might deserve a video in all honesty. These points are something I wanna share, and even those who already appreciate Cell may have not picked up on these parts of his character too, and like him for other reasons.

Side note: his imperfect and perfect designs are top tier
