Virus' thoughts on Damian Wayne's Teen Titans and why frankly, it was designed to fail. These are just my opinions and my own characterization of the characters. This is gonna be a really long thread i think but let's beginning. Let's start with the concept of the Teen Titans 1/x
It's in the name. The Teen Titans from Dick Graysons run to Tim Drake's run to the tv show has ALWAYS been about coming of age. They are teenagers, its in the name to begin with. They grow as people, learning about themselves and they grow as a team to work together
it's almost a right of passage for every Robin (male robin specifcally) to lead the teen titans and there is nothing wrong with that but at the same time. Is it needed? Is it really need here?

Now lets go into why Damian Wayne's Teen Titans flopped. Badly
The character of Damian Wayne is complicated as hell. I'm not gonna get into it send me a DM and I will explain the complexness of this gremlin child that I will die for. Damian has always worked best with people he trust and that is a hard thing for him to do-
to trust someone. Maya did it, Jon did it, Colin did it, Dick did it. So why not the Teen Titans. Here is what went wrong.

1. The team themselves. The team Damian originally forms before switching has Tim Drake's former teammates. Thats a problem-
It is not a secret that Tim (espeically tim drake stans) dislikes damian. And it is very VERY likely that tim has vented to his teen titans teammates. so THEIR first impression of Damian will be through bias lenses and its not like they try to hide it in the comic
2. The writers themselves.
Okay wtf is with DC comics and hiring writers to write characters that they OBVIOUSLY do not like? Cause those writers will find an excuse to set character development from previous comics like TWENTY STEPS BACK
It's VERY telling. And I'm sorry but if I can write Tim in fanfiction even though i am not a fan of him and put ASIDE my bias. So can actual writers for DC Comics, like its not very hard to do so.
In all honesty, there are mutiple reasons why the Teen Titans run with Damian but storywise it makes no sense. Damian is frankly a fresh face to the Robin name and there is so much that can be done with his character. There really wasn't a need for a Teen Titan run-
to begin with. He doesn't work well with people he believes does not trust him. And this is not a headcanon this is shit that is backed up with his reveal and the comic runs he had been in. He doesn't trust easily and if you have a character like that and a wholeass-
team that already has a bias against that character that just is gonna cause ALOT of problems. And it did combined with writers who have no idea what to do with Damian's character besides regress the grelmin back to where he was when he is introduced.
now character regresses to previous bad habits or behaviours is not anything knew. People in real life do it. The ISSUE here is the jump from Damian now and who he was before is HUGE and the writers are just being like "oh well he's evil now"
Which btw can that storyline just DIE ALREADY?! Let the past die, kill it if you have to. Just let it die, we are tired of seeing it. Now if you have to had a team with Damian there are plenty of characters his age that you can use. Kathy, Maya, JON
Damian is a character that stands out from the Batfamily in my opinion. He has a different background and skillset and he works really well with people who know how to handle his behaviour and work with him. We saw it with Supersons and Son of Batman
It's not that hard and having Damian deciding not to follow in the other Robins' footstep is in character to who he is frankly. hell it gears him up to eventually take on a new mantle for himself.

Anyways end of thread and all of this shit imma write myself
