Want to know why I never doubt or question when a female SM comes forward with allegations that improper behavior is occuring or has occured (other than being a decent human being)? The Summer of ‘18 I was part of the Task Force training USMA Cadets. If you were there that summer
Some of you heard of the incident involving the male showers on Camp Natural Bridge involving the Pvt w/ the hidden camera. Yup. Im one the males he filmed. So. If it can happen to a guy that looks like me I have NO doubt its happening when a female says it is. Now. Dont get me
started on how the military justice system handeled it. As a victim Im SUPPOSED to be contacted with updates. Know how many times CID contacted me after the initial report? None. Zero. Exactly zero times. I had to call for updates on the case every single time. This story came up
At the USADSA while I was there. None of the cadre knew I was one of the victims. I always wondered how people from other installations knew what happened but Im still having to call CID for updates. I wondered why these other SM’s that weren’t there thought it was funny until
I spoke up and said “yea, I was there. I was recorded nude without my consent” then everyone got serious about it. Weird. Anyway...Females...I get it. I get the frustration, the anger, the loss of trust in leaders and the disappointment. I really do.
Ill also add this incident and how it was handeled was a major factor in me continually asking to be sent to the SHARP course until I got to go.
While I tell this story during my SHARP briefs, this is the first time Ive publically discussed it.
