I don't mean this in a hostile way, I genuinely do want to know! I just always believed that the stan culture that developed around Ed Markey was a means to the end of getting him re-elected, so that we could then all go back to demanding that he do things. I hope others agree.

This take is not directed at Ed at all, it's really directed at people responding to this video with "sneaker king" or whatever. There was some really horrifying news today, now is not the time to be interacting with a politician to complement their swagger.

So to clarify: Ed is absolutely doing the work, it's totally fine to take joy in silly things like a politician's sneakers, and we can stan as long as it doesn't get in the way of advocacy! I just wanted to say that the left must demand results from the people we put in office.
