See, in the threads where anons FIRST started discussing Q, the /only/ drops they knew about were drops 6-13.
This is because Q had made those drops using the same tripcode -- which we swear we'll get around to explaining soon.

So, a tripcode is a random-*seeming* scramble of characters (like "D5LAkBut") that a user on an anonymous message board (like 4chan) can generate.
Because /almost/ every 4chan user just goes with "Anonymous" as their display name, the tripcode is the only way to track who's who.

The WAY each tripcode is generated is pretty simple: the user just... types a password in. That's it. That's all it takes. The tripcode generates based on that input.
So if two people share a password (or if one person obtains another's password), they'll have the same trip.

Which brings us to an interesting question. Why did Early Q choose to use different tripcodes in each thread?

UPDATE: Speaking of @dappergander, she has gently and correctly pointed out that this thread is wet garbage because it conflates "user id" and "tripcode."
This is an EXTREMELY basic and embarrassing error, made all the more so because "ID" is *right there*.
