what’s really wild about feminism (the flimsy mainstream version of it) getting more popular, especially w/younger people, is that the first people receiving empathy & understanding is cis het men. omfg

that’s like if this current racial equality/equity...

discussion was centered on yt ppl instead of the ppl racism actually disproportionately impacts.

men experience the downsides of patriarchy but they also benefit from it(& uphold it). women experience those same downsides while not benefiting from it in addition to experiencing the more horrid & often deadly symptoms of patriarchy perpetuated BY men. what’s not clicking.

My steam for this thread is running low but cis het women can “benefit” from patriarchy but it’s tied to their relation to men which essentially is not a benefit at all. the closer you adhere to patriarchal standards, the more you’ll seemingly be “rewarded” & “accepted”.
