One of my distant cousins has an autistic son. Everyday he comes home from school, there is this specific piece of wire he keeps with him and plays with. He’ll cry the place down nonstop unless he has it and nobody is allowed to touch. First time I met him, he made me hold it 🥺
I didn’t understand the magnitude of what this meant until his mom, grandma, siblings all started yelling in shock/awe. I cried y’all 😭 nobody else can touch that thing. Not even his mom. He always ran up to me and let me touch it every now and then and he’d smile ahhh
I should go back and visit him soon. we became besties over those 3 short days we spent in atlanta
