(1) The Ford gov't needs to explain what its daily COVID-19 numbers mean as opposed to constant warnings every day that we have to do better. We were told the purpose of the lockdowns was so that hospitals would not be overwhelmed with COVID patients. They haven't been.
(2) Of course the daily infections are rising because the lockdowns have been lifted. So what level of infection would necessitate another lockdown? Would it have to be province-wide when the main hot spots are Toronto (unsurprising given its size), Ottawa & Brampton?
(3) Ford gov't needs to tell us what 'success' looks like here because at the moment it sounds as if Ford has moved the goalposts from containing the spread of COVID-19 to the impossible goal of keeping infections at the same level they were during the province-wide lockdown.
(4) Everyone knows that can't be done & if Ontario's experience is like the rest of the world's, there's going to be a second wave. So what is the province's goal here? Vague, daily head counts of infections aren't telling us the information we need to make informed decisions
