I cant reply so i guess im quoting. I dont like this being considered a matter of fact that all trans woman are female. Sex like gender is a social construction, one meant to describe a rough set of biological traits, and not social cues. https://twitter.com/NotRightRuth/status/1305498606045200390
Through medical transition trans women often do adopt some physiological traits that are associated with being female, and if you consider that to make you female, i agree, but that doesnt apply to all trans women.
Some trans women dont medically transition at all, and i wonder how they personally feel about this given it's not a perspective i understand as somebody transitioning. I do know for me, a large part of my dysphoria is the reminder of a dissonance between my gender and my sex.
While some trans people are more comfortable alleviating that type of dysphoria by considering themselves female. I feel far more comfortable accepting that some women are male.
Both of these are social constructs, they have no need to inform each other, implying they do seems to undermine the idea that sex does not need to inform gender.
Trans women who consider themselves female do not cause harm, i want to make that clear, but the idea we all have to be "female" as a matter of fact is in my opinion treading too close to gender bio-essentialism for my, and im assuming others, personal comfort.I'm a male woman 🤷‍♀️
