Honestly I’m super curious about when in the franchise we’re going to learn what truly happened to the master sword, we know why it’s gone in the AT, it still blatantly exist in the CT, but in the DT it’s kinda just like « hurr it’s lost to legend » but like what does that mean?
Not that I’m hating on Zelda 1 it’s unironically one of my favourites i think it aged horribly but I love it. And it still makes sense in the context of the story. Even in BOTW we know the sheikah had made a sword that could fight against the calamity only thing is it was fragile
So the master sword isn’t a necessity by any means it’s just a lot more convenient and safer to hedge your bets on because it was made by the goddess literally to combat someone who had the pieces but was unworthy. Sheikah tech and magic isn’t as reliable as crazy as that sounds.
Speaking of BOTW I wonder if we’ll get more prequel DLC. « But the game is a prequel why more prequel dlc » because I’m interested in the battle 10,000 years ago. We know how this battle ends. I hope you guys aren’t going to pretend we don’t. Everyone dies. Just a matter of how.
The legend 10,000 years ago though was left extremely vague and it’s really peaked my interests. Mostly because of 1 thing in particular, the tunic change. The green garb isn’t just iconic to the franchise but it’s part of the history in game. The hero ALWAYS appears in green.
So it makes me wonder if somewhere down the line there was a time of peace. A lot of it. And this isn’t head canon we’ve seen in the CT that after so much peace the trainees were wearing the actual hero’s garb not the higher ups. Modifications were made as time passed.
It makes me wonder if people forgot about the hero because there was no need for him to reincarnate. That would be very very interesting. It’d also mean a lot of Hyrule’s conflicts prior would be mostly political which is something else we’ve seen happen even in BOTW tbh.
I doubt we’ll go that deep into it Aonuma will release a new book or Akira will make more manga before we get into a super deep political Zelda world(let’s hope we never see that gameplay wise, fun to read not fun to play lol).
Also hope we get an explanation on the humans soon. One minute they’re here the next they’ve been wiped out and as crappy as a lot of the kings of Hyrule were I don’t see Zelda of any kind allowing something like that. Maybe they just evolved in time? Idk it’s really hard to say.
I’m mostly focused on the 10,000 years ago legend though. I feel it may be something we get to explore whether through flashbacks or because Lana and Cia show up again and the multiverse needs a fix because they suck at their job.
I didn’t expect to go on this long so I’ll just talk to Sarah about the rest of my thoughts cause this thread will never end if I don’t lol
And when I say « this happened in BOTW » I don’t mean ONLY BOTW. I just know that’s the only one a lot of people have played recently so I’m using at as a base.
BOTW was great but it didn’t touch up on much or break too much new ground. All it really taught us is Ganon can choose not to be a human form(which I mean duh if you’ve been paying attention to this franchise) and someone in the past wished only Zeldas could have the triforce.
