Excessive money has become the yardstick by which we determine the relevance /seriousness of a political candidate.
In Ghana while CSOs discuss the monetization of elections, the EC comes out and sets filing fees at 100,000 Ghana cedis.

Then you hear arguments like, "we will refund filing fees to parties who get 25% of votes"
@ECGhanaOfficial
Why are we allowing the EC to literally sell presidential qualification?

Who determines who non-serious candidates are, and is the determination via financial ability?

Are we constricting our democracy by setting high monetary requirements?
@ECGhanaOfficial
Is money the yardstick for determining presidential material?

Poor citizens cannot aspire to the presidency?

Is our democracy for sale?
