Legit there's a lot of horror people right now bringing up Buffalo Bill or Psycho Re: Rowling not realizing that those characters have -long- been controversial in LGBT circles.

If you missed the discourse around those characters, you need more LGBT horror fans in your life. đź‘Ť
It should also be noted however that those characters came from different eras, and a lot of the response to JK Rowling's novel right now has more to do with her continued and militant transphobia more than anything.

You can't exactly trust her to tackle that subject matter well
Like imagine if someone had just spent a whole year spouting racist shit on social media and then announced their latest book was about black people.

You wouldn't really trust they'd be tackling that subject matter with good intentions.
It should -also- be noted that "cis man dressing like a woman to rape/kill women" is literally the propaganda TERFs and conservatives have been using to argue against various Trans rights.

So the plot of her book... Is literally the anti-trans narrative.
So you have a well-known, outspoken TERF writing a book using a TERF propaganda narrative as the basis of her book - Is it really surprising Trans people don't trust her to write something awful?
I understand a lot of this is new to some of you. And that's fine, I was dumb as fuck about this shit a few years ago.

My tweet thread here is merely to help ya understand. đź‘Ť
