the hp books were my security blanket growing up, the thing that got me through significant trauma. in particular hp5, harry grappling with issues of anger and whether or not the bad things in his life had warped him into a bad person. so this hurts. it will never not hurt.
it hurts, but jkr/hp have been hurting people for quite a while, even if I and many of us didn't see it through the lens of privilege & childhood nostalgia. however you choose to relate to these works, it's important to recognise they've been problematic all along
