One last thing on Guilbert (& I don’t dislike him)... Appearances are deceiving. Targett improved hugely last season defensively, and going forward is a better footballer. He is a bit wet though and so is disliked by a few supporters... #avfc

...Guilbert pumps his fists & dives into tackles and that’s great to see, gets the crowd going (when there is one) but was caught out of position a lot last season & didn’t create as much. But is forgiven more easily because of his passion. #avfc

There’s no comparison in terms of their contributions really. They are judged by how they ‘appear’ from the outside. #avfc

As Villa supporters we’ve been through this often. Better players disliked by supporters because of perception. I don’t mind Guilbert. I wouldn’t sell him. But not sure he’d get in any other PL team. #avfc
