My team are phenomenal. Today, like every day, we consulted with hundreds of patients. Some we helped remotely and where appropriate some face to face. We consoled the grieving, we broke bad news, we shared good news, we listened and we examined and we cared. But I’m angry. (1/4)
Because today, while dealing with absurdly high demand, we also dealt with being accused in the national press of being workshy, dangerous and unprofessional. And this attack was directly caused by a group that say they support us. SUPPORT US?!? (2/lots)
How DARE @NHSEngland claim to be helping us with the mendacious manipulative lies they supported today?
They know how hard we’ve been working to follow THEIR guidance since March. To try to shift patient expectations and patient frustrations in this way is deceitful. (3/lots)
Deceitful and wrong. Tomorrow we’ll be back in there again. Working for our patients again. Just like every single day. And we’ll be dealing with patients who can’t get tests because they’ve been let down by the inadequacies of Test & Trace just like we have. (4/lots)
We’ll be dealing with patients who feel justified to speak to us badly because they’ve read the papers, while we’re short staffed because our self isolating staff can’t get tests either. We’ll be tired and even more tired of this political posturing. But we’ll be working (5/lots)
BECAUSE WE NEVER STOPPED WORKING. WE NEVER CLOSED. And you know it @NHSEngland so quit trying to shift the blame for what’s happening to hardworking NHS staff when you know where it really belongs. (Hint: buy a mirror) (6/that’ll do)
