Let's Talk About Suicide:

1. Globally, 800,000 people commit side and MILLIONS attempt suicide every year.

2. Among young people, suicide is a LEADING cause of death.
3. Most people contemplating suicide don't really want to die, but to ESCAPE from their suffering.

4. Always treat a suicidal person with empathy, compassion and care—avoid being judgmental and critical.
5. When you sense somebody is struggling, talk to them, ask them how they are doing and seek to understand them. Commit to follow up and support.
6. In dealing with suicidal people try to minimize the risk. If the situation is acute do whatever it takes to keep them safe and never leave them alone.

7. If you are suicidal reach out to somebody and let them help you recover your sense of hope.
