How PL sides negotiate transfers:

1. LIVERPOOL:
"He's priced at £45 million and has 5 years remaining on his contract. You're not willing to accept £5 million so we will wait for his contract to end so we can sign him for free. Thanks, I need to go look at some boats now."
2. MAN CITY:
"I know the asking price is only £20 million but I think it's logical for us to put in a bid for £220 million. We would offer more but it's likely that he'll be benched for most of the season. Let me just call Daddy Sheikh to do the EFT."
3. MAN UNITED:
"You want £90 million for him and in the current economic climate, this can't be done but we will liase with agents to compromise. We need to know if he is skilled in taking penalties but more especially his ability to go down in the box for absolutely nothing."
4. CHELSEA:
"£60 million for this player? You got it! We'll take his neighbour as well for £55 million. Do you know of any other players within the same price bracket, or even higher, for sale? I mean we're willing to spend as much as possible. We have Hazard money."
5. ARSENAL:
"Since his buyout clause is £42 million, how about we offer you £42 million and £1? Or we could do a trade. Give us your star and I'll give someone who may or may not perform well for you?"
6. SPURS:
"Well we're regarded as one of the Big 6 clubs and we may bottle a lot but don't forget that's both Modric and Bale played here. Oh yes! We did also play in a European final and we've beaten Arsenal a few times."
7. LECEISTER CITY:
"The £15 million deal is completed for us to sign him but while we're here, let us tell you about this star we have. We know he's not very skilled but we can make him available to you at the very low cost of £70 million."
8. EVERTON:
"We don't have much to offer and we haven't won a lot but Carlo Ancelotti is our coach. I mean, who wouldn't want to play in the same city as Liverpool?"
9. WEST HAM UNITED:
"So you've played in the Champions League? Won the Premier League with one of the Big 6? You're perfect for us. You might take a huge pay cut but what the heck, we have bubbles."
10. NEWCASTLE UNITED:
"Has he been relegated? Or maybe out of favour at a big side? He's ideal. Money isn't a problem at all. We're hoping for an oil money injection soon."
11. SOUTHAMPTON:
"All that matters right now is knowing whether he's good enough for a club like Liverpool? Could we potentially sell him for around £50 million in a few summers time?"
