I can't quite describe what these fires are doing to our collective consciousness -- mine at least, and perhaps yours as well. To not see the sun, to wonder if it is safe to go for a walk, to have no idea when the smoke will clear.
I worked hard over the past few months to create new tools to manage anxiety in the midst of a pandemic. Exercise in the morning. Mid-day walks. Driving my kids to the beach once a week to see the sunset. Seeing friends in parks and backyards. None of that is available anymore.
What's left? Meditation I guess. But it is a really, really hard time right now. I am sending love, support, understanding, empathy and strength to everyone feels like they are losing their mind. I'm right there with you.
We know the pandemic will end. Climate change probably won't. And that's what makes right now so painful.
