Verbs indicates ACTIONS. VERB TENSES indicates the TIME of the action.

Verb tenses help us understand WHEN and sometimes HOW the action is happening.

They help the reader answer these questions:

1. Is it happening now?

2. Has it happened already?

3. Will it happen later?
There are three basic verb tenses:

1. PRESENT TENSES: tenses that describe any action that is happening NOW or CONTINUOUSLY.

2. PAST TENSES: tenses that describe things that have already happened.

3. FUTURE TENSES: tenses that describe things that are yet to happen.

1. Simple Tenses

2. Continuous Tenses

3. Perfect Tenses

4. Perfect Continuous Tenses
