#WannaGetAway from 2020? Us, too. We’re choosing to laugh and spread joy. Here’s a little glimpse into how we got here. (THREAD)
Back in March, the world changed.
We introduced The Southwest Promise to make a commitment to cleanliness and to maintain our focus on the comfort and well-being of our Employees and Customers.
Thank you to the many Southwest Employees who voluntarily said goodbye to Southwest recently. They sacrificed for our beloved Company to help stave off involuntary furloughs and layoffs (which we’ve never had). https://www.dallasnews.com/business/airlines/2020/07/20/nearly-17000-southwest-airlines-employees-sign-up-for-buyouts-leaves-in-bid-to-avoid-furloughs/
We’re not the only ones who have had to make tough decisions. Everyone has weathered storms this year. But in spite of it all, at Southwest we’re still smiling behind our masks. We’re still looking to spread joy and laughter. https://twitter.com/SouthwestAir/status/1292161301091844103
If we lose our ability to spread joy, and our sense of humor, we lose a key piece of #SouthwestHeart—a piece that is critical to getting through the toughest of times.
We have more than a few choice words to hurl at 2020, but instead we're bottling them up and turning them into a handful of new ads, some resources for those learning from home, and some support for those in a classroom.

Raise your hand if you #WannaGetAway from this year. 🖐️
If you see the ads, tell us what you think, razz us, whatever.

We don't need to urge you to do any of that, of course. This is Twitter.

Class dismissed. (END THREAD)
