A few things I have noticed about arsenal under Arteta... a thread

Auba has improved a lot under arteta. Not just going forward but also in becoming a more complete player. What arteta has introduced to this team is the idea of defending as a unit and here we see auba tracking back and retaining possession. A new style that has been so effective
Despite being one of our best players under emery, auba in a lot of our away games against top 6 teams had little influence however now we see him heavily involved in our play going forward, link ups and goals in important games. directly involved in 17 goals in 14 PL appearances
AMN. Not playing in his preferred position but still getting the job done. Iâve noticed heâs matured sm and what I like about him is his composure. Here (one of many occasions) heâs up against one of the best wingers itl, he stays calm, reads the game and clears his lines

Granit xhaka. A player who was at one point wanted out by a lot of fans to now being one of the most important players in this arsenal team. The last time that we won a Premier League game without Granit Xhaka was August 17th 2019. So so important for us in the long term.
He has become a lot more disciplined. Weâve seen in recent years, xhaka being given red cards and yellow cards for making unnecessary reckless challenges, now however he has much greater judgement, only goes in when necessary and 9 times out of 10 he gets the ball.
Final thing about xhaka which I touched upon previously, and that is his decision making. Im aware that long passes has always been a big part of his game, but more specifically under arteta, his awareness to look up and spot the run from auba and his accuracy have improved a lot
Tierney. One of our most consistent players to date. Arteta has been able to find a good link between tierneys long balls over the top and aubas pace to exploit teams and get in behind. We saw it many times against city and other teams, and it has been effective
Our defenders, in particular luiz and mustafi, have really stepped up under arteta. Giving their everything, throwing bodies on the line to make sure that we donât concede. Something that we havenât seen at arsenal in recent years. All this instilled into them by arteta

Mustafi in particular. Notorious for making mistakes, being out of position, conceding penalties etc (same with luiz). But credit to be given to both of them, they have both stepped up in our most important games and have performed professionally and gotten the job done for us.
Mustafi has also (like xhaka) become more disciplined when defending. Doesnât make unnecessary challenges and when he does commit, makes sure that he gets the ball. Seeing how arteta has developed mustafi into a solid cb has been really refreshing to see as an arsenal fan.
Here Rio Ferdinand goes onto explain more about arsenals defending :) https://youtu.be/iRcmBkfX2L4 ">https://youtu.be/iRcmBkfX2...
Another thing about arteta is that he has been able to get a good balance into our style of play. He is aware of the ability of the players we have and that we are not at the stage to go toe to toe with teams like City and Liverpool, so heâs developed a style...
....where we can defend really well for long periods of the game as well as get forward and score goals. Heâs developed players like Saka and AMN to help us push forward and become more clinical when scoring goals and overall creating more chances.
Eg. The shape that we have kept here is amazing to see. Organised and keeping Man City out. Arteta is aware that man to man, city have a better team than us and if we give them a chance they will score, so this was fundamental in us holding onto our lead and seeing the game out.
Arsenal have always been known to want to play beautiful football. Arteta has been able to implement that into our play as well. Weâve scored some amazing goals starting off from the back and being beautifully worked down the pitch, eg against fulham

For him to take the squad we have now and not only win a trophy but put in convincing displays against Liverpool, city and Chelsea, it really says a lot about the type of manager we have atm. Overall, the progress we have made under arteta has been phenomenal...
...and I canât wait to see him improve us and take us further. I believe if heâs given the opportunity to bring in the players he wants (partey and aouar atm) then we have a very good chance of challenging for top 4, and maybe in a couple of years challenging for the title
