can we talk about young adult ministry real quick? I have some questions:

what is the “goal” of young adult ministry? obviously all ministry is to facilitate a deep & lasting relationship with Jesus Christ & His Church, but at what point
does YAM simply become social life facilitation? I totally get that young adults are usually in more of a limbo/transition stage and it’s a great place to meet friends, but is it a launching point for deep and real community, or just a fishing pond for a future spouse?
And in that case, should YAM be oriented toward secondary vocations? Should the topics focus/gravitate toward vocational discernment? Is the goal of YAM to have everyone live their 2ndry vocation fully/healthily/real holy? Or is it more of a meeting of the minds?
And on that note, I feel way less welcome at young adult stuff because I’m married. It ~feels~ like a single people club to some degree, even if that’s not overt. I have lots of YM experience and our goal is to facilitate an encounter with God before all the big decisions come,
but in YAM, everyone is in SUCH different places life-wise. I feel like a lot of you work/volunteer/participate in YAM and I really want to hear your thoughts!! Trying to wrap my brain around this ministry so I know how to interact with it well!!
