Cowboys/Rams Review:

A thread containing my thoughts as I watch this matchup over & over again... lol

I’m going to try to do one for each matchup so keep an 👁 out

Let’s start...

Bobby 🌲🌲 looks crisp on the 1st drive but has 3 of his 6 receptions in the 1st 2 min. Weird.
While Woods was hyper productive in that drive those were scripted plays... Not much difficulty.

Still, the plays were planned for him. Says something about his intended usage this season.
Great sign having Akers get the first snap. First run looked explosive but then he tapered off.

Brown looked great in his 2 goal line carries to start. Attacked the hole and explosive 💥
Zeke’s good... Not gonna talk about him much...
Akers has started both series now... I think they WANT him to be the guy there but Brown’s making it hard with the hot hand.

Brown’s lanes are more open than Akers are but he’s doing more with what he’s given, as well.
The end result of this game was 35 carries from RBs for the Rams.

Against what should be a high flying Dallas offense they chose to control the clock.

Their defense, with the addition of Ramsey, is mean...

I’d expect more of this moving forward. A lot of ground game.
CeeDee’s 33 yard grab looked comfortable...

Dude drips swag. Looks ultra comfortable. 😎

That gets extra fantasy point...

Right??
Everette with the drop... A really bad one at that.

Neither he nor Higbee had particularly high usages this game.

Higbee obviously did more with what he was given and was targeted more often but we’ll see how the rest of the season goes.
Tony Pollard is just good... If Zeke ever goes down he’s a lock top 10 RB.

I’d love to see him get the bell cow work elsewhere.
Everette had a nice 10-12 yard scene called back due to penalty.

That’s a 3rd target that the stat sheets won’t show.
A. Cooper clearly has Dak’s trust. He’s the Alpha in this receiving corps... He looked excellent Week 1 especially considering he had Ramsey to deal with.

That being said, Gallup & Lamb looked great too.

The second half of this season is going to be filled with headaches.
Lamb needs to know where the sticks are on the 4th and 3 in the 4th quarter though...
That Ramsey hit on Cooper in the 4th 👀👀👀
Cooper targeted 3/3 of the plays to start the Cowboys 2 minute drill.

That Dak/Cooper connection is real.
OPI in Gallup was a little soft.

Stat sheets won’t show it but he had somewhere near 50 yards on 2 receptions called back in this game.
Game over.

Final thoughts? Rams:

Brown looked damn good but still only received 4 more carries than Akers. If he can keep this kind of play up they’re going to be a true committee year long. But don’t get it twisted... Akers is the guy.

Woods is the WR Rams are scheming for.
Higbee/Everette is still an unknown.

Subpar performance out of both but Higbee did more with his targets.

Goff looked strong and in control of the offense. Should be a big year for him.
Final thoughts? Cowboys:

Zeke Zeked.

Pollard: League winner if Zeke goes down.

Amari is still the Alpha in DAL.

Gallup & Lamb looked exceptional too.

2nd half of the season competition for targets will be REAL.

Jarwin ouT on possible ACL.

Dak looked good not great. 🤷🏻‍♂️
