Who's written the best piece explaining the strategic value *to the US* of spending diplomatic time and attention on Gulf recognition of Israel?
I understand some argue they're happy supporting ISR irrespective of value to US. I also understand idea that support for ally's priorities has residual value to relationship--good when those priorities are even neutral to US. I'm wondering if anyone has written more robustly.
This is the germ of an idea. I don't know if I agree, but I'd be interested to see @ExumAM flesh it out in a piece: https://twitter.com/ExumAM/status/1305464606580711425
An interesting thread and exchange starting with this @mkoplow tweet. Still interested in how this would positively affect US FP/interests. No doubt the administration pursued something, and accomplished it: https://mobile.twitter.com/mkoplow/status/1305899951860391936
