Thanks @metromorning @LondonMorning @CBCOntMorning @CBCSudbury @CBCSuperiorMorn @CBCKW891 @CBCWindsor for having me on to talk COVID-19 case increases and what it can mean for sustainable school reopening.

Key messages:
1. Will be volatile and interrupted.
2. Three risk levels - community, school, household. Communities w/ lower prevalence, schools w/ tighter catchment + robust measures (class sizes & ventilation key), households from higher SES, non-racialized, non-medical issues, limited elder care, flexibility will cope better.
3. Class sizes are one of the primary public health measures to keep risk low w/in schools. Shouldn't be politicised but has been. This is unhelpful.

4. Missing curricular adaptation and quality education delivery. Kids are coming back w/ interruption and will have more.
5. Public health messaging has been somewhat misleading compared to some other countries. Numbers of cases stressed w/o concerted link to reproduction rate w/in communities. Want that to be <1 over time. Most regions were ~1 or >1 throughout the summer.

No surprise cases now.
