-being in Foreign Service is accepting to live a life constantly divided by displacement yet multiplied by enrichment of meeting new people, amalgamating in new places, understanding new cultures..while remaining forever rooted in the never ending romance of the homeland.
-It’s accepting a dual existence and agreeing to lead a nomadic life in service of Pakistan. I’ve set up home 5 times in past 9 yrs alone. Yet, there is no greater pleasure than serving the country thus..and no stronger a pain than dreaming a dream of a much longed for homecoming
-a posting abroad is a life spanning way beyond the glitz and glamour (which undoubtedly exists) of diplomatic engagement. And that is what makes it all worth it. In this thread I’ll share just some of the innumerable tasks we undertake while on a posting abroad.
