Everyone seems to either be losing their mind or lost it already.

Most of the people I've seen at work have gained weight, become painfully anxious or seem completely overwhelmed and withdrawn.

Many are living an absolute nightmare right now.
It took me decades to understand the difference between listening to someone's pain and carrying it as my own.

It's important now to parse out the two because there is so much pain that it is overwhelming people with catastrophe.
Pain unites us as an inevitable part of the personal and collective human experience.

Pain divides us when it makes us a victim to the circumstances that are situational and not personal. Even when it's personal, it is still a choice to accept it as a tool for learning.
It's clear that most people don't have healthy ways to process pain so they just project it.

You can listen without carrying when you accept that their pain can teach you how to (and how not to) manage your own pain

Pain is a teacher and a mirror. Don't let it be a millstone.
