Here& #39;s a short and general guide to mics:
-USB mics: ok for general use like video conferencing over Zoom/Discord, not ideal for recording VOs or vocals since they inherently have static and usually have harsh S sounds

-XLR mics: gives you much better quality, has that clear,
"broadcast" sound. For most people, get dynamic mics since they don& #39;t pick up a lot of background noise/reverb.
Downside is they& #39;re much more expensive since they require an audio interface

You can totally get one and possibly make it work but they& #39;re much more sensitive and pick up a lot more of the room you& #39;re in. That& #39;s why you see them in studios since that& #39;s a more controlled environment
