I am one person that still don’t see the essence of this National Science and Maths quiz in Ghana. Not because my school (WASEC) never got pass regionals but what is the essence of continuously testing students ability to recall information and awarding those who can do it well?

The funny part is the quiz mistress will not finish the first sentence or word na Student mention the correct answer.

Is high time we bring those gases, solutions and local materials and have these students apply the formulas to create something for us to judge. Let’s move

into robotics and solving problems with that science and maths we learn in the class on National Television.

Most schools spend time choosing and training students to memorize responses and formulas at the expense of using them to create something.

Yes There is calculations

I know but mostly out of memorized formulas but let’s ask ourselves can these students apply them in their everyday lives?

I don’t know about you but I think we need to change from the traditional testing way to an authentic means of testing them.
