This is a very good word, if something is Unembellished it is simple and straightforward, it is presented as it is.

This is ridiculously formal. If something is tortuous it is consisting up of twists and turns. Eg tortuous roads or tortuous ideas. (5/n)

This is anything having a complex and vivid structure and this fits beautifully with the word tortuous. So the construction "tortuous convolution" is talking about complex nuanced twisted ideas. (6/n)

TBH I was a bit surprised to see both ostentation and Rodomontade in a sentence because they're almost synonyms. Ostentation is an act of glorifying yourself extravagantly. (7/n)
