the situation is over, but let me say this:

yes, the joke was bad. it could’ve offended people, but we never wanted to offend someone. it’s alright to be offended by a joke! but instead of being publicly handled, this situation should’ve been talked about in dms. — 1/?
— with the people that were concerned. there was a lot of people involved in the situation, but i would’ve liked to be dmed about this. we were a lot, but there weren’t 30 of us or something. i think that 15 people took part in this joke? anyways, the number doesn’t matter. 2/?
— handling this publicly was a REALLY bad choice, especially since some people involved were MINORS. fortunately, this situation was over before it directly hurt someone, and aside from one of my tweets that got shared, i don’t think anyone got directly tweeted about. 3/?
— still, DMing people would’ve been the right choice, and the situation wouldn’t have escalated. just a simple dm saying “hey, i got offended by that joke” would’ve been alright. i understand how communicating can be hard due to the language barrier but translators— 4/?
—can give people a general understanding of what was said. there’s no need to understand the subtleties of a message like this. if an apology is asked for, then an apology should be given. 5/?
speaking of apologies, people involved in this apologized and defended their positions. still, we kept on being mentioned and the situation kept on escalating. even after changing our pfps and names back. we apologized, we did everything we could. 6/?
—it’s up to you to accept or reject the apology. however, my part here is done. i did what i had to do. there’s no need to escalate this situation when the people involved apologized.

that’s my stance on it, thank you for reading this thread. 7/7
