Human trafficking is the 3rd most profitable business in the world after drugs and arms. So as a result high ranking politicians that profit are never going to try stop it.
When you think about how loud our minister of police Bheki Cele's silence is on this issue, you just know that he doesn't want to step on any toes that would cost him his job (if he isn't benefiting from this himself).
I've been watching a lot of human trafficking videos of women that survived and it's so painful how they were lured by other women because we tend to trust each other and the state of our countries make women desperate for jobs.
Unfortunately for us South Africa is a lawless country. Human trafficking syndicates will not stop even if they are caught because laws and penalties are too lenient on them.
We all know human trafficking hotspots, this isn't a recent issue in South Africa however business is growing. I have watched videos of them busting brothels and finding missing women and children in Durban yet the same places today still house trafficked people. HOW?
