THE WITHDRAWAL AGREEMENT FOR DUMMIES
Here is a basic translation why the Tories want to rip up their internationally signed agreement.
There were only ever 3 alternatives:
1.Remaining members of common market & customs Union
2.Hard border in Ireland
3.Hard border in North Sea

1.Effectively means remaining in the European Union, abiding by common standards and high levels of human rights, food standards, employment rights etc
2.Means a high risk of war in Ireland and the probability of never getting a deal with most countries, particularly the USA

because the Tories would have ruined the GFA & peace in Ireland. The USA cares deeply about Ireland
3. Placing a border in the North Sea, effectively ending the existence of the UK. Scotland would follow and probably Wales too. England would then be at risk of disintegrating

The Tories hurriedly went for option 3. so that they could tell the electorate that they had ‘Got Brexit Done’ knowing full well that 80% of people don’t understand it. As a result, they won the election.
They now know that they can’t do option 1 any more.

Option 2 and 3 means the UK is basically destroyed either way. Johnson/Cummings knew this all along. They are now simply and purely looking for someone else to blame.
The internal bill is a distraction. There is no fix in reality. They know that they have destroyed the UK.

MY OPINION:
Putin/Trump game planned this from the beginning. They knew how to do this, & they chose their useful idiots wisely.
The hopeful weakening of Europe was their goal.
All they needed to do was convince the common people that it was in their interest, which it isn't.
