Chelsea best formation this season could be 4-2-3-1 when attacking and want to defend very well at the same time. Chelsea attacking prowess is very good the defending prowess is something we need to improve very much.
What do I mean by 4-2-3-1?
Let's see about it strength;

. STRENGTH
Passing the ball through triangles is more effective at breaking down opponents than passing in straight lines, which is where 4-2-3-1 comes into its own. It's also difficult to become overrun in midfield using a 4-2-3-1 given that there's great flexibility

when it comes to the advanced players being able to drop into deep wide or central areas. Further, the number of potential attacking players means that it's possible for one of these players to drop deeper without losing your offensive threat
should a sudden chance present itself on the counter-attack.
Additionally, with so many players ready and available to pass the ball forwards, the striker in this formation is typically provided plenty of chances to score.

WEAKNESS
There is a lot of responsibility on the attacking wide players to drop back with speed into defence when an opponent is able to pass the ball out of defence. This has caused some friction between certain players and managers, such as Jose Mourinho and Cristiano Ronaldo

at Real Madrid, for example, as the two disagreed on how individuals should act during the attacking and defensive phases. Ronaldo doesn't like the limitations that defending puts on his attacking options, whereas Mourinho wanted Ronaldo to submit to the needs of the team.
Our Options in every area on the pitch

Wings options :

Striking options :
Werner, Abraham, Giroud.
Let us explore how each player will fit into this;

Let us explore how each player will fit into this;
In goal we have Kepa or Mendy (anyone in form will do)
In defence I'll prefer Thiago, Zouma partnership with Reece and Chilwell on both side. Our captain will play most times too, I'm sure lampard will find a space for him in this.

Now to the 2 pivot back Midfield options, this is the very important and sensitive part, we have a player (Jorginho) that passes ball forward for fun(Not necessary key passes), we have the best ball winner in the world (Kante) that can slide forward and backward for fun and
kovacic with outrageous flair. For our 2 CMS I'll pick Kante (Constant) with kovacic/Jorginho (Rotational, mostly based on form).
Kante will play the RCM because I'll like Reece to go forward most times and have Kante cover for him when needed.

I think Declan Rice will do very well beside Kante as he's taller and would be good for Aerial Duels and he can play centre back if need arises.
The attacking Midfield will most likely be occupied by Havertz/Mount.

I'll still prefer Havertz anyday as he comes into our defensive play. With his height and heading ability he was Bayer Leverkusen main for clearing out crosses winning total of 48 Aerial Duels in the bundesliga last season (Impressive for an AM right?)
Ziyech on the right wing, Pulisic on the left Werner up front.
Incase of injuries or congestion of fixtures or substitution, I'll have Mount at the left wing Odoi on the right and Werner can play any of the wings, it's a win win for Giroud and Abraham.

I'll personally like Havertz and ziyech to be flexible, when one is at wing the other is at the centre.
