It can be argued that vultures are far more more useful ecologically than peacocks, especially now when peacocks have become invasive (partly thanks to humans interference) in habitats they didn’t earlier occupy. #WeNeedEcologicallyAccurateHumour https://twitter.com/mirsuhail/status/1305314031536873475
Vultures scavenge. It is an ecological function of immense importance. Their *looks* are an adaptation to this crucial work. Peacocks on the other hand...SMH. India has destroyed its vulture population and created a huge but unknown ecological crisis of cattle carcass disposal +
In which feral dog populations have exploded in response to carcass availability. But dogs are not efficient or effective scavengers, plus they are dangerous to wildlife and humans.

(Yes, I will take even a random political cartoon as a chance to talk about vulture decline.)
Vulture populations plummeting are a result of widespread use of veterinary diclofenac in the 90s—cows that were given the drug when unwell, and later died of old age or whatever, were eaten by vultures. The tiniest amount of diclofenac kills vultures.
