Internalized misogyny 1/3 : A couple days ago, I was out for a walk with my mum and she asked me to cover myself with a scarf just cuz I was wearing a short sleeved, slightly fitted shirt cuz ‘mard buhut ganday hain yahan unka kuch nai hosakta’
Couple of months ago, I was out for a long drive with my sis after the rain to enjoy the pleasant weather. It was starting to get dark and all of a sudden 2 men in a white land cruiser first stopped to give us looks and then started following us. 2/3
The rest of the way till they lost us and we safely got home, the crippling anxiety was horrifying. Mind you we were 2 girls minding our own business in OUR car. This was the idk what time my quality time with my sis got ruined cuz of some fkn jerks. 3/3
And so many countless instances me and my others femme friends face the unpleasant situations and restrictions for no reason. Our fault? We are women in this country
The recent incident and every time I hear something so shattering I just think. Had those assholes been schooled by their mum instead of our parents asking us to not go out, maybe for once I’d be able to peacefully drive in this country.
