I get kind of frustrated when I see people who identify as girls tagging their posts as femboy, trap and twink. I think it perpetuates those terms being misdued against trans people and being used as slurs against trans people, specifically trans girls.
I think people should be allowed to identify however they want but it just seems irresponsible in a way. I think my friend said it best, "you can't have it both ways girl" and she's a trans woman so I feel like her opinion matters a lot more than mine on this subject
We also talked about how it could be part of someone's transition and maybe they still see themselves as a "femboy" or a "trap" but even then we agreed that it's still damaging to the community but also to themselves but they probably aren't doing it intentionally
I know I've probably said things wrong in this thread and I'm sorry if anyone's offended i just think it's an important thing to talk about even if I didn't get it all completely right
If you think I'm wrong, have a different opinion or think I'm being ignorant please let me know. I always want to hear what other people think
