Wreck the Game is labor law but why it will not be focusing sex wo/rkers a thread (wild guess)
Wreck the Game is labor law but why it will not be focusing sex wo/rkers a thread (wild guess)

I have joined last day sa Webinar series ng Ga/briela Wo/men's Party and the topic is Prostit/ution in the Philippines. I have learned a lot and might as well share it +
Prosti/tution is NOT a form of labor but rather a form of systematized abuse and use of women as commodity. +
I want to clarify that prosti/tution is not exclusive to women but here in the Philippines it is done by mostly women. +
Women are driven to prosti/tution not because it is profitable but because they are desperate and forced into it because of extreme poverty, unemployment and even human trafficking. +
Marginalized sex wor/kers actually get offended if they are being called sex wor/kers. Walang sino mang babae ang bata pa lang pinangarap ng maging ganun ang trabaho nila, ginawa lang nila kasi kailangan nila. +
Se/x wo/rk is work— No. Women is more than that. They can and good at any kind of work if only they are given enough opportunity. Hindi pang satisfy ng pleasure ng mga kalalakihan lang. +
What if the act is consensual? If money is involved, it blurs the line of consensus to being used kasi kailangan ng pera. +
My body, my choice—Yes pero kung sa simula pa lang wala naman choice kun'di yun lang, then it's not a choice after all. As long as they are doing it willingly then go but if money is involved are they really doing it because they want it or dahil kailangan ng pera? +
We are not judging the women here, we are all victims of capitalism after all. We don't judge them just because they chose that path to earn money.+
Being against to se/x wor/k doesn't mean we are antagonizing or invalidating those women who are into that. We are antagonizing the system because women are forced to do that when they can do better than that. +
In this society where capitalism is reigning, sexual exploitation become rampant. Legalizing Prosti/tution will further outgrow horrific gender violence, women and child exploitation and places men the power of authority. +
Prostitut/ion is NOT empowering. It will just promote women objectification and sexual exploitation.
Prostituted women are treated as criminals rather than victims of poverty and gender inequality. The gravity of punishment of exploited is greater than those exploiters. Law do not penalize pimps, bar owners, or those who pay to use and abuse these women. +
Sa isang lipunang mala kolonyal, malapyudal at patriyarkal ang lumalaganap laging talo ang kababaihan. We should enact legislation to decriminalize prostitution by introducing amendments to the Revised Penal Code. +
Possible ba na yun ang topic sa labor law? No because it is not a form of labor in the first place but an abuse. If the story is meant to be light then the topic is not suitable for this because the law regarding this is complicated and is another anti poor provision +
It is amended multiple times but still. We all know that Ms Ad knows the law more than us. There are a lot of issues that will be focusing instead like unfair labor practices, termination disputes, and employee-employer relationship just like what she said in her vlog. +
CLARIFICATION: this is not in any way official reason of miss eydee. I only stated and assumed based on what I learned in the talk. Ty.
