I've spent all day trying to compose a tweet to go with this image, but the truth is I have no words for it. The entire West Coast is on fire and covered in poisonous air. We've debated climate change for decades. This is the result of our failure to act. https://fire.airnow.gov/?lat=34.096909386044686&lng=-118.28228359400194&zoom=10
In before "What about development in the urban / wildland interface? What about controlled burns?" All factors as well. But climate change is the biggest; it's the only one heating and drying the entire coast on an unprecedented scale.
Despite what some pols think, it doesn't do shit anymore to go on TV and say "Climate change is real." Our leaders have a simple choice: Whether to take real, meaningful *policy action* to solve the climate crisis, or whether to let us choke to death in fire and smoke.
