the reason shows like Rick and Morty and Nathan For You have such obnoxious fanbases is because they have the kind of humor that makes you feel smart and clever for "getting the joke" even though literally everyone gets the joke

i saw a comment about Nathan for You that was like "people just don't understand his dry sense of humor" yes this hit comedy central tv show with millions of viewers and you're the only one who understands the dry humor, hold for applause
