my toxic trait is that if someone talks abt an anime i’ve never seen before, i’ll just pretend that i have and then i’ll have full blown convos w them abt it by bullshitting thru my teeth +

okay but like hear me out tho, i only do this because 99.9% of the time, they talk about an anime that brings them so much happiness and when they talk about it, their entire face lights up with so much joy and i just could never bring myself to say “oh i’ve never watched it” +

because then the light kinda dims from their face & they say like “oh” and we move on to something else which makes me sad because talk to me! tell me why you love this anime with your entire heart! tell me why you love or hate this character! i would love to know! +

i just let the person do all the talking and i just kind of sit there and look at them like this because it’s the most beautiful thing in the world to see someone speak about something they feel so deeply about:

it’s just much easier to pretend i’ve seen it and let them tell me everything verses them unable to tell me something because they’re afraid of spoilers (i don’t mind them so i usually let them rant about everything until they move on) +

anyway yeah, i think it’s incredible that anime can bring so much emotion to someone so i would rather listen to them talk about why they love it than watch the actual anime. plus i have a shitty memory so i end up forgetting major scenes anyway when i eventually end up +
