I am very grateful that I have an immune system, and I am in awe of just how enthusiastic my immune system is, but I would definitely prefer if it wasn't so overly excited it randomly decides that the inside of my mouth or the skin on my fingers are The Enemy when it gets bored.
I appreciate my immune system being Always Ready To Defend Me, but I would argue my skin is actually a part of me and is also trying to defend me and maybe you are on the same side? Just a thought? Maybe you could be friends instead?
This short thread of Immune System Appreciation Tweets was brought to you by my slight exasperation at being unable to eat today, just because my immune system has decided to destroy random bits of the inside of my mouth. As it just decides to do, occasionally.
It usually heals out in a week or so, but it's not a happy time while I'm waiting...
Apparently I wrote this thread eighteen hours ago, so it is probable that I haven't eaten in close to twenty-four hours, and it only hurts more now, so I've made popcorn: if my mouth is going to hurt like this despite my efforts, I might as well eat anyway.
