In 2009 my then 10 yr old daughter caught swine flu whilst at primary school. It damaged her inner ear & she went on to develop an autonomic nervous system disease that rendered her bedbound & wheelchair-bound for several years. She missed crucial years of education..
..and social development/experience that have taken her years to catch up on. She still suffers emotionally from the damage and the trauma. Now, aged 20, she's about to embark on a 3 yr degree course at University. In the middle of a pandemic. To say she is terrified...
...of what might happen if she contracts COVID19 is an understatement. To say I'm terrified is an understatement. People talk about the young not being affected that badly. But some young people will be. University students need to consider their more vulnerable fellow students
Wear masks. Socially distance. Get tested when necessary. Isolate if positive. Government needs to pull out all the stops to sort the testing fiasco out before more lives are destroyed. Please!
