Everything wrong with the current Mourinho formation - A THREAD...
Ben Davies is not good enough on the ball to tuck in and it also gives the opposition right-mid all the time and space in the world
Dier and Toby are not fast enough to cover the break aways down the right side in the space vacated by the right wing back
The lop-sided attack using the right wing back makes us predictable and one dimensional. If the RWB has a bad game, Spurs have a bad game.
The right centre mid is often reduced to a baby sitter for the space left by the RWB, when they should be focused on creating space and pouncing on loose balls
Deep lying left midfield does not make the most of Heung Min Son's talent. Like taking a Ferrari and making it tow farm equipment.
Harry Kane, a man who is not quite as robust as he once was, is left completely isolated at times. This man needs one or two chances a game, yet he is getting no service.
The current system suffocates creativity in the midfield, promoting sideways passing along a three, balls to the wingers, and punts over the top. No room for a Dele Alli character and missing the likes of Eriksen.
In short, the current system is designed to promote solidity and I'm sure it will eventually. However, it doesn't give Spurs the chance to ever dominate proceedings or suffocate opponents, reducing us to break aways and short spells of pressure.
